Morrison came from humble beginnings and worked her way to success. Graduating from the esteemed Howard University, Morrison would go on to teach at both Howard and Princeton, the latter would name Morrison Hall after her. February 18this designated as Toni Morrison Day in her hometown of Lorraine, Ohio.
