Did you know that Juneteenth was two and a half years late?
The Emancipation Proclamation had already, supposedly ended slavery, but many blacks were still enslaved. This is why so many Black people question Juneteenth and if it should be celebrated at all. There are many days that call for celebration amongst Black people in America, but our greatest day of celebration has yet to be marked, the day that we have true equality.
