The Emancipation Proclamation-Black History Is Everyone’s History

Where We All Come From

The Emancipation Proclamation

Did you know that The Emancipation Proclamation did not abolish slavery?

What this proclamation did was grant freedom to escape slaves that made it past Confederate state lines. The Thirteenth Amendment, the only ratified amendment signed by a President to date did more harm than good. Today we have Ava DuVernay’s film “Thirteenth” to put the whole thing into perspective for us. Plantations were simply turned into jails and black people all stand the chance of being enslaved systematically, systemically, and equitably.
