Did you know that Revels was the first Black man to serve on the U.S. Senate?
Revels wanted equality and equity for Black people and said the same in several of his speeches, the first being one made to his colleagues in the Senate. Though his term only lasted a year, Revels would go on to promote his hope of equity and equality in other endeavors.
