Did you know that Anne Spencer was a Civil Rights activist with a love for poetry?
Spencer married Edward Spencer who built her Queen Anne style home with a garden house. Spencer would grow beautiful flowers and plants and use them as the foundation for her poetry which almost always made reference to the Harlem Renaissance and Civil Rights.
