Althea Gibson (August 25, 1927 – September 28, 2003)
A professional golfer and tennis player, she was the first Black person to win at Wimbledon. Gibson is an eleven-time Grand Slam winner and in 1956, 1957, and 1958 she won the French Open, Wimbledon, and the U.S. Open.
