If You Had A Terminal Illness, Would You Tell Anyone?

Thinking about Chadwick Boseman, his life, and how he chose to live it, I must say that I understand his decision to keep his illness quiet.

If I had a terminal illness, I wouldn’t tell a soul. My life should not be a basis for how you live yours. People should treat you how they want to treat you regardless of race, color, or illness. I would not want a person to treat me differently because they knew that I was dying. I would not want to treat anyone differently because I knew that they were dying.

We don’t know what people are going through, and we shouldn’t have to know. Every experience should be an opportunity for us to bring our best selves to it.

YOLO.

Who do you want to be?
